Started out with Baclofen in the pump. Unfortunately, this did not help at all. After that med was removed, my doctor filled the pump with Hydromorphone (Dilaudid). This med did not help much either.
A few days ago, I was informed that Medicare will not cover the Dilaudid. Since, it did not help much to start with, decided to remove this drug slowly.
Prior to the pump used a number of different drugs by mouth. Some had an impact that lasted for a short time.
By the end of next week, the pump will be empty. The decision was to leave the pump as it does not bother me much.
One of the Medicare approved drugs is Morphine which I took some time ago in pill form. This did not do anything for me.
Wonder if Morphine will have a positive impact via the pump? Anyone have any thoughts?
A few years back, I had a Neuro-Stimulator installed in the cervical region. This helped really well for a week or so until I developed an e-Coli infection which required the stmulator to be removed. This was done at Jefferson in Phlly. A really great surgeon did the work. He since moved away to Denver.
Am really up a creek to put it mildly at my age of 77.
Thanks for reading and any useful comments would be grately appreciated.
