Get off the narcotics by getting yourself to a GOOD pain managment center, prefferably at a large metropolital teaching hospital where researce on chronic pain goes on.  I know it's a pain (pun intended), but I truly believe it's your best move.  I've suffered severe, worsening chronic pain from several severe, documented conditions-fibro not among them- and have just gotten worse.  I finally followed the advice I just gave you.  I learned that narcs are actually bad for chronic pain; they impair the pain receptors, eventualy making them MORE reactive to everything.  I've now been diagnosed with CRPS and I beleive my long-term use of narcotics for chronic pain, although under doctors care andnot abused, have resulted in the CRPS.  Thanks for the read...
