    Hello Wendell

I sure know what you mean.  I've found the only way I can get a pain flare to calm down, is to take my med, get the heating pad or ice pak (depending on the pain) and just lay down till the meds and other help can get control of the pain again.

Of course that's impossible when your out trying to get some errands done, but what I do then, is just suffer through or put the rest of the errands off, if possible and get myself back home where I can lay down for a bit and not waste my BT dose in a situation that I know it won't help till I can lay down.

I only have a certain amount of meds I can take perday, so I try hard to make them work for me and not waste them in a situation, that I can't get the pain controlled anyway.

I think we all are so different, I'm sure with your experience you have certain ways you know to take care of your pain too.  It seems to take a long time to know your pain/body and how the meds work to get it down to how and when to use them to your advantage.  I think this was one of the hardest parts of learning to live with chronic pain, for me.

You Take Care of yourself, I enjoy reading your posts.

Thankyou for the encourageing post Betty Bop, thats exzactly what i have been doing all day, just takeing my meds and watching tv from my easy chair.

My pain has decreased from an 8 down to a 3 Wink i allso notice stress can increase my cronic pain so i try to avoid as much stress as i can and it sure helps.

I've been concerned with this Swine Flue shot and i talked it over with my Doctor and decided i'm not takeing it nor is anyone in my family takeing it.

My Mother took the shot back in the 70's and got the Gilean Braye Syndrome and had to use a walker to get around.

I sure understand what you mean about stress, it's like someone has hold of the pain control knob and just jerks it up on high.

I'm very blessed that my husband & I have been married for 27 yrs, have been through every miserable challenge and heart break that this world has to offer.  He's also really tried hard the past couple of years to be more supportive and is much more understanding about my chronic pain illness.

When I first became ill 7 yrs ago, neither of us understood what was happening to me, we'd lost our eldest son 10 months prior to my health going down hill, so our house was very stressful at the time.

Between sharing articles, doctors dianosis and mine & his feelings openly, we have finally both had much improvement in the past two years and we keep our relationship and household at a very low stress level and it really helps the both of us.

When ever I get into a stressful situation.  I run for the hills and won't participate in any extended family gossip or troubles.  They can all figure out there own lives, but don't include me.

I hope your having a good low/no pain day.  Mines about an 8 right now and I have to go take my pm  meds and lay down with my heating pad for a bit.

    Take Care of yourself

I'm really happy you found us and enjoy your posts too
