Low Blood Platelets and Cronic Pain

By Wendell707 Tuesday, November 03, 2009

I went to see my pain management Doctor yesterday and got enough scripts to last into New Years, He allso gave me a shot of cortazone in the spine. i hate to say this because it made things worse instead of better. I've felt like heck since i got it so i am trying not to move very much in hopes of geting rid of the pain "i rate this pain at about a 7 on the pain scale.

To top things off i got a call from my familey Doctor and i am supposed to go see a Doctor at the Encology Dept Thursday because my blood paltelets are to low. " Has anyone ever heard of this?? I would like to talk to someone about low platelets cause i dont think they can do anything but monitor a person (: and i am wandering if this problem with the low blood platelets could be related to the meds i am takeing?

Have a nice day

JUST REMEMBER THAT SOMETIMES CORTISONE INJECTED CAN CAUSE AN INITIAL INFLAMMATORY (inflammation) RESPONSE BEFORE IT HELPS RELIEVE THE PAIN. HANG-IN!!  DR.J

Thankyou DR. J ,i would'nt have throught about the worse befor better and thats just what happened i felt like heck the first 24 hours and feal 75% better now.

My pain management Doctors are sending me to the hospital for an MRI of the liver and splean next Tuesday. After that they will be watching my meds close to deterimin wich one is causeing my legs and feet to swell but allso they may be adjusting the dosage with my current meds and if nessary change some.

Have a great evening DR.J
