Hello Laynee

It's a plesure to meet you and Welcome to the Chronic Pain Connection!

I've heard alot of pain patients find comfort and therapy in journaling and think they are wonderful.  I've tried to get started several times and the only time I'm able to stick with it is while we are on vacation and I journal about our daily adventures while traveling.  Although our traveling has been cut down quite a bit, we still get to go on short vacations, as I'm no longer able to drive in the car on trips like we used to.

We have resorted to flying on occaision or what the travel channel calls "Staycationing"  lol where you take short trip from home and don't drive very far, but learn about & see the sites of your own area.  We just took a staycation a couple of weeks ago.  We drove an hour to the east and got a motel and hung out at the pool.  lol. Went out for a nice dinner and just relaxed and enjoyed being away from home.  Funny how we have to change our lives to accomadate this chronic pain.

I have 4 dogs and one cat & a pot bellied pig.  giggle

My career was a Veterinary Technition and I raised, raced, showed and trained horses for most my life.  So I used to have an active life and now I'm nearly homebound.

Although I have had extreme changes in my life, I'm still enjoying being alive.  Its' a challenge every day to get outa bed and I work hard to keep out of bed, but some flares have to keep me down.  I belong to this site and a couple of online support groups and participate daily.  I enjoy helping others with their pain and helping them to learn to live with this horrible illness.

Your also welcome to contact me here or by a private message by clicking on my name near my picture.  I am on the puter daily and would love to visit with you too.

Have a nice day and pet those critters  giggle

Hugs

Betty

Hello there Laynee

Long time no Talkie!

I'm a hanging in here, dealing with lotsa pain & fatigue this winter.  I've got an elderly friend that I helped out a couple afternoos per week and she took a really bad fall last August, so I've been staying here at her house with her 24x7 for 1/2 of every month to help care for her.  She has a neice that has taken the remainder of the month that stays here too, so it's really added to my stress & strain on my chronic Pain and illness or FM.  But I'm some how by the grace of God surviving.

I'm blessed that my two littlest doggies are doing there therapy work and My friend loves me to bring them both to stay here too.  They do such a good job with my friend. They sit on her lap all day long and are so gentle and loving.  So I'm very happy that I can bring my babies with me and I'm tickled they have done so well with loving her too.

We've also been blessed Here too, that neither my elderly friend or I got that horrible flu this winter.  Everyone in her family & mine all got really sick, but I stayed here with her and told everyone to keep away till they were healthy.  She & I both got our flu shots this fall and maybe that's helped us stay out of the flu & cold bug.

I'm very sorry that you've had to deal with it.  I know that even healthy people are stricken and sick for nearly 3 weeks with this bug, but for us the pain it really bombards us and seems to lay us up even worse than ever and takes months to finally concur.  I hope your feeling better and hope you will be by a little more often to visit, but if not.  Please take care of your self and we will be here when ever you'd like to talk or need some loving support.

Many Gentle Hugs

Betty
