How do you go about leaving pain management

By c21tamit Wednesday, March 03, 2010

I have, for the last few months, been having trouble with my PM specialist. I've talked about it here & with my primary. He has explained a little of what I needed to do, but the situation is not as it was when we were creating that scenerio.  Well, I went to PM on monday & was disapointed. The PA there basically said that with the RFA not working there isn't much they can do anymore, especially since I won't consider accupuncture. He recomends that I return to a rhummy to see if there are stronger drugs that I can take. He also said " your primary can write your scripts for the meds you're on, you don't need to continue here."

I have an appointment with PM at the end of the month. And with my primary 2 days later. In my head is the though that maybe it's time for me to find a different practice, different options, I don't know.  I'm working hard to not allow the depression response to what he had to say from taking over my life.

So my question for you... I need to find out how to properly leave my current PM. I don't want to jepordize my chances of returning when I find another Dr. I'm not sure I will leave at the end of the month, but I need to know how to do it properly if I do. THanks for all your great advice. I always find so many usefull things here.

Thank you
