I suspect that many people would be led to believe that fibro fog is actaully caused by the medications we are on. In my case the answer is NO. I had fibro fog for years but did not realize what I had and tried my best to ignore it. It was one of my first symptoms back even in my early 20's before I realized I was really sick with anything. This was long before the pain even started. It was long before I ever took any kind of prescription medications.
I actually have the fog improved with my medications most of the time. I think better and have a better thought process in general when I take my meds. I know most people would believe it to be just the opposite.
However, when you look at the latest research on the affects of fibromyalgia and the brain, then it makes sense why we have what we call "fibro fog". It is a disease of the brian itself. They have even found diminishing grey matter in fibromyalgia patients. I would suspect that could interrupt anyone's thought processes along with the chemical imbalances found to go along with it all. The chemicals dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine are just a few to name which are off balance in the fibromyalgia patient.
I just don't understand why with all the latest research people cannot understand that this disease is real. Simply put, alot of people are closed minded and refuse to even look at the latest research of this illness which plagues more Americans than most other diseases which are "believable".
I live with fibro fog. Most days it is present to some extent and more so.
