I think so.  The doctor put me on it about 2 months ago for my depression and nerves.  I also take Paxil and have for a long time.  Well, I noticed the pain is not as bad most days and lets up quicker.  Even a tad more of energy.  I wrote the people over at Bristol Myers Squi...

Hi! Glad to hear something's working for you but I wanted to pass along a warning.

I took it for depression around a year ago and had to stop. One of the side effects can be that your body no longer regulates its temperature. We caught this because I live in AZ and we noticed it was over 100 outside and I stood at a bus stop for ten minutes without sweating at all.

So keep an eye out. Good luck!

Thanks for the warning.  I will watch for that.  It makes sense it could do that being it is a drug that alters brain chemistry.  So far, no problems....except I crave candy.  LOL.  Don't need that side effect but guess I can live with it if it helps FM.

    hugs,

    Debra

    Dear Debra,

I went on Abilify for depression and I had to go off it because I just couldn't keep still. My friend thought I was super hyper. I had tons of energy (which I liked because I have fibro too), but I noticed I couldn't sleep at night and I felt like I had to keep moving. My doctor gave me samples at the time and I just looked and those samples were 10 mg., I think that may have been too high of a dose for me. I am going to make an appt. with my doctor again and I am going to request the lowest dose and give it a try again. Thanks for posting that, you never know, this might be it!!

Yeah, it makes me kind of hyper.  But if I take it in the morning time, it does not seem to bother my sleep at night.  (not that I have ever slept refreshingly anyway...lol).  But so far so good.  I do know it has also helped the depression symptoms quite alot so for that I think it is worth it anyway.

    thanks a bunch,

    Debra

I have a question to ask you. Did you ever take Lyrica? My Dr. put me o it to see if it would help my back pain. Well it didn't, but when we tried to taper me off of it, I got terrible sied effects. To tell you a few; strong urges to commit suicude, cotton mouth bad, shakes, anxiety, etc. In fact if you read the side effects they list for this crap, I've got almost every one. Whenever we get too low when tappering offf and the bad thoughts come back I have togo back on them because I can't stand it. I don't know what to do!Frown
