Grateful
Sunrise…
A beautiful combination of all colors
Painted by the Hand of God to greet me each morning;
Saying, “This is to remind you I’m with you”
I am Grateful
Fall colors…
Orange, red, yellow
Not the death of the tree
But the promise of renewed life in another season
I am the tree
And I am Grateful
The water….
In early morning hours
The look of glass, not a ripple in sight
A fish does a graceful leap over the glass….
Tiny ripples fade as the fish moves on
And I am Grateful
New baby smell….
Touching his tiny fingers
Kissing his soft cheeks
Knowing his future has already been written
A secret between him and God
God. Renewed life.
And I am Grateful
The cat…
Curled up beside me. Motor running.
He doesn’t care that my body is broken
He expects little
A scratch on the neck
Contentment.
I am Grateful
Wind…
Blowing in my face
The scent of spring
Lilacs.
Renewed life
A testament to the promise of God
For eternal life
I am Grateful
My favorite chair…
Pillows to comfort me
No pain.
Respite from the demands of the day
Slowly dozing.
I am Grateful.
Family…
Concern.
Compassion.
Happily taking over when I can do no more
Speaking up to doctors who don’t understand
Unconditional love.
I am Grateful.
I am so Grateful…
