I've been married just over 11 years - believe it or not I gave my husband a disclaimer before we got married.  At the time  neither of us knew how bad I'd get or how much treatment I'd need nor the expense of that care.  Neither of us knew he'd end up with multiple surgeries for injuries as well.  Seems we all cater to & are more understanding of people with visible, short term injuries than us chronic pain & illness sufferers.  My family is so sick of helping me out; the teens can't wait to move out rather than sweep the floor & vacuum rugs for me.  I'm out of my main pain medicine that I'm suppose to take twice a day& cannot afford to refill it until my husband's payday on the 20th, nobody cares.  I can't stand up straight.  We are out of dishwasher soap which means hand washing dishes & husband invites company over- to serve them what I don't know but......more dishes. I'm hypersensitive to noise & to light it seems, this is a fun, nice, loud family coming to dinner tonight.  I begged him to let them know in advance that if I go to bed early it is not to dis' them it is due to the pain, the fatigue, my life in general.  We may be more than our illness as everyone says but at times I feel my illnesses are devouring me-this is one of those times.  Why couldn't they come the day after I had that IV therapy of vitamins & minerals & felt so great?  Most of all what hurt the most was my oldest son asking, "...can't you do...." & I tried to explain I'm out of my main pain med & he said "I don't care mom, I don't care. I feel sorry for (my sister) when (I leave for college).  Great support system huh?!  Sorry gang, just had to vent.
