Have been taking cymbalta for two years but in the last month or so I have been experiencing very bad nausea with it and have stopped taking it. Why is this happening now and not earlier?

I would check with your Dr., but sometimes medication takes 6-8 weeks before it is fully in your system. When I was on Cymbalta the side effect I had was swollen ankles, but that side effect was immediate. I often call the pharmacist, they usually know more about side effects than the Dr.s do. Good Luck!

it seems like some meds lose their effctiveness over time. i switched to savella recently and so far i am shocked at how much it helps. i had a couple weeks of stomach upset and then it went away. the relief is huge, maybe you need to talk to your dr and switch? altho the savella is more expensive (grrr).when you stopped taking the cymbalta did your upset go away?? maybe it's not tied to the meds? or maybe you need to change the time of day you are taking it (with food or without...before bedtime etc)
