My father is 60 years old and does not qualify for Medicare yet but he is out of work and can't afford his medicine. Is there any help?

I did try www.simplefill.com and they filled out all the forms for my dad, submitted them and he is already approved and will get all of his medicine in one week! They also said they are going to to the refills for him so he never needs to worry about reapplying. My dad will pay $65 a month but that is all because they get all the medecine for free. He was paying nearly 650.00 each month!! He is now on cymbalta, provigil, lotrel..to name a few. I can't do this work on my own, I am at my breaking point. Sorry if you see this as a scam. I am really tnankful for the post because it really helped us out. Isn't that the reason of forums? To get help?

My mom is on 4 different prescriptions, mostly for psoriasis but a one other for anxiety and they've been able to get all four prescriptions for her for $65/month. I'm pretty sure there is no limit to how many prescriptions they can help with either! We tried a few other programs, but had the best luck with this one. They take care of all the paperwork and keep her refills up to date with no hassle.

Yes, there is help. The best place I can recommend is the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPARx). Here's a link to their Web site: http://www.pparx.org/
There you can enter all of the medications your father takes and answer a few basic questions and they will give you a list of any programs he qualifies for. Often they also provide the necessary applications that you can download and print out. Or if you prefer, there is a toll-free number you can call and talk to someone directly.
If any of the medications your father takes are only available in the brand name, there's a good chance he can get them free from the pharmaceutical manufacturer. PPARx will provide that information for you. They will also tell you if there are any assistance programs in your state or elsewhere that he might qualify for.
If some of his medications are generic, there are a number of pharmacies that have low-cost generic drugs. The least expensive I've found is Wal-Mart. They have quite a long list of generic medications you can get for $4 for a one-month supply and $10 for a 90-day supply. Like your father, I am 60 and have no health insurance. Most of my prescriptions are generic and I get them through Wal-Mart's $4 program. The one brand name I take I get free from the manufacturer. I went through PPARx for that. Between the two, I've save a lot of money each month.
