This new medicine, for chronic pain, if it causes weight gain is not going to be beneficial over the long haul.  You must understand that being in constant joint and muscle pain, becoming overweight puts more stress on the different joints and ligaments.  The accompaning headache I've had for over 6 years, no relief, sometimes not as severe as other times.  When my hands swell or feet swell, it causes more pain.  So taking a medicine, that causes these side effects, I don't understand what is so great about it.  In my case I would want a medication that would get rid of the headache and all the aches and pains in my body without making me overweight, or have rebound headaches.  People who live with this kind of pain would jump at anything to get relief.  I just don't think it should cause them the problems they are trying to stay away from.  Thank you,

That's great news about a medication to treat the pain that accompanies fibromyalgia.

It is too bad that we don't know if the Obstructive Sleep Apnea and its sleep deprivation came before or after the fibromyalgia.

The side affects of the medication would just feed my sleep deprivation until I lose the remaining weight that is causing the obstruction.

Plus, poor circulation causes me to swell.  ASad diruretic is necessary to make me lose the fluid I retain - in addition to diet and exercise...and physical therapy.

Dear Dr Borigini, i tried Lyrica as i have fibromyalgia /CFS ,i also have Meralgia Paresthetica ( Laymens term the outer thigh of the leg /thigh goes numb and tingling while the surface of the upper thigh grows on fire with prolonged walking or standing , at times it is unberable) Hence the new Drug kill two birds with one stone Right? WRONG when they say Lyrica is not for everyone the arent kidding only they dont put tremors and convultions as part of the side affects, I hope this works for some people , but i will find out more on my own with the research part before i try another drug like it again! I dont think it has been tested enough in fibromyalgia cases before it was put on the market, serveral of my fobro friends have tryed it and got some kind of reaction to the negative, are there any other drugs for the M P that i have that have been used with great success? Please adives thanks Cherie
