During a visit to my physican it was suggested I get a hobby. While browsing one day I happened upon a $1500  painting. I decided I would spend that money learning to do something new, a hobby...painting. This one reflects those moments when the pain causes much confusion and I can't just be......

Very nice work!  I hope you're really enjoying your new hobby.  We have a Pain & Creativity Center here on ChronicPainConnection you might enjoy.  Each year – late summer to early fall – we have an art and creativity contest.  We'd love to have you enter this year.

Thank you. I would have to say my hobby may have saved my life. It serves as a distraction. While it may not be the cure I am greatful for all the encouragement I have received in my pursuit, both from friends known to me and those I have yet to meet. I recently had surgery, which has reduced the pain significantly. I now have to deal with my employer and weening myself off of some powerful medications. I should have joined this forum long ago and again I thank you for your kindness. I look forward to meeting new people and sharing what I have learned in the past 3 1/2 years of continuous pain. I am definitely more empathetic in nature...I never knew a person could feel the same pain day-in and day-out and my heart goes out to those who have suffered far longer than myself.
