I have been living with chronic pain for 34 years, had many ups and downs, lived with pain meds and lived without pain meds. I am currently seeing a pain specialist every 2 weeks and he will not listen to me!! I have had a lot of increased pain in the last couple of months and have tried Lyrica (side effects), increased neurontin, increased zanaflex and nothing he tries works. He basically says just live with it. I am so darn frustrated and angry and I feel like I am wasting my time with him. I live in Minneapolis/St. Paul and we only have a couple of pain clinics in my area. I have tried the other one and that one is not for me either. I am running out of my pain meds before my refill lately and I am worried that my doctor will find out and quit giving me my meds all together. I just don't have the guts to tell him because I have detoxed once before and it is frikkin' awful. Does anyone have any suggestions? I just don't know what else to do? Thanks for listening.
