About Me

I'm in my early 30's and was I was FINALLY diagnosed at 22 with Psuedo Tumour Cerebri (PTC)/Idiopathic Intra Cranial Hypertension (IIHT). At that point I had been suffering from severe headaches (way beyond a migraine, as I get those also...what a treat!!...lol... for over 10 years. PTC/IIHT basically means that I have increased cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) pressure.
I just recently got married and am currently enjoying being a newlywed. I have also just recently returned to work on a trial basis. I am a Flight Paramedic so I will have to see how much, if any of a toll that takes on me...or not.
My husband and I are fortunate enough to be currently expecting our first child. While I was able to drastically reduce the amount of medication I WAS taking prior to conception I am still struggling with the constant and chronic pain that is associated with my condition and how it will affect our unborn daughter.

We love Boxers!!! We have a 4 year old reverse Brindle male and a 1.5 year old fawn female. We are also a foster home for abused and abandoned Boxers and Minature Pinschers. Something to distract me for chronic pain and to keep me company while I am on bed rest. Plus they have the added bonus of motivating me to get out that bed at least 4-6 times a day to let them outside. Unfortunatley I am unable to take them on walks anymore.Anyone out there who can give me advice and support regarding pregnancy and dealing with feelings of guilt that I have regarding being a spouse who is in constant pain and chronically ill. As I am feeling extremely guilty about being ill and struggling to find answers relating to pregnancy, breast feeding and chronic pain. Regardless of the subject any comments, observation and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. All the Best in 2009!!
