Addiction

At a Glance

Patients who take most kinds of pain medications run the risk of becoming addicted to those medications. Patients who are addicted to medications will take their medications more frequently or at a higher dosage than what is prescribed, ingest drugs in other ways than directed, report stolen medications often and engage in "doctor shopping".
