Stress is a major risk factor for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, especially among people who are genetically at risk. At least one million people in the U.S. experience Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. CFS often goes undiagnosed. Most CFS patients are between forty and fifty years old. Studies say that there are four times as many women than men who have CFS. Over 25% of patients with CFS have experienced depression.
Some hurts last a lifetime. Recently, when I asked a 52 year old woman about her childhood, she started to cry. Like so many victims of child abuse, her hurts are lasting a lifetime.
