Is it possible to develop an allergy to pain meds years after taking them daily for Chronic Pain?

Does living and sharing with someone who loves you help you cope with the pain better?

I've been alone for 5 years, and hate it tremendously. I have found, when I was around someone I really cared about and who cared for me, that the pain lessened.
