At a Glance

Widespread and consistent pain are the main characteristics of fibromyalgia. Only a doctor can diagnose the disease. If you have pain in all four parts of the body for at least three months and feel pain at least 11 tender points when pressure is applied, then you have fibromyalgia. Many symptoms are seen in other diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome, making it difficult to diagnose fibromyalgia.
