Sometimes, anxiety and a chronic disease can lead to a self-sustaining cycle, where concerns about the condition makes a person anxious, the anxiety perpetuates stresses on the body, which in turn further the initial anxiety about pain. This is the life of a fibromyalgia patient; without a definitive diagnosis process and (often) a long and arduous diagnosis process, anxiety can play a major role in the life of a patient.
