With the difficulty of identifying the specifics of fibromyalgia comes the difficulty of treating this mysterious condition. Traditional approaches, such as the use of opioid medication, are common, while some patients also opt for alternatives to medication. Recent studies have shown that alternative treatment is effective in many patients, indicating that there is hope for some of the more difficult fibromyalgia cases.
A new study published last week in the Journal of Pain Research found that practicing yoga can reduce chronic pain symptoms in women with fibromyalgia.
