Non-opioid Pain Medication

At a Glance

Two types of medication for addressing pain include: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ibuprofen that are over the counter and opiod hydrocodone prescribed by a doctor. Both provide pain relief quickly within half an hour. Differences emerge when comparing length of time of effectiveness and accompanying side effects from usage.
