I have been where your at with pain meds... I wish I was still there on just that pill alone. I had a chance to kick that one on my own.

I have chronic backpain... and was on the 7/750 apap since 1997...then in 2008, the Doctor at my HMO put me on Norco 10/325 (was not good to me) and Morphine Sulfate 30 mg at 3 times a day... They put me on the Morphine to help with the everyday pain thats below a level 5 on a pain scale of 1 through 10... 10 being the worse. It is an extended release type. This is not a drug I would go on if I knew what was ahead of me... You cannot take anything else like even a simple cold medicine for it may of MAY react NEGATIVELY ///please dont take this drug. Norco is the hydro part ... 10 is the mg thats in norco... which also translates even more possiblity for dependance just like Vico ES. Don't take this one... It sent me to the hospital twice! in one month. Had to quit cold turky ever since. So what Am I trying to say... You really are better off where your at... and if you can... go down to Vico 500... that was the best way to self ween off hyros... I did it in 2005... was off for two years without anything but air..

Now look at me... begging to be like normal again.

Hope this helps...

Sorry to hear about your problems want2bclean, but everyone reacts different to different meds, so dont scare poor missy to death. If you are taking your meds accordingly, you shouldn't have any problems, I was on Percocets 10/325, and just wasn't doing the trick anymore, so Dr. gave me Roxicodone, which is just Percocet without the tylenol.

So, until they come out with a hydrocodone without the tylenol and you can take the oxycodone, they work great for me, and the generic are cheaper than vicodin, so if they do pass some stupid legisltion, that could be something to think about.

Hope I helped, and not trying to step on your toes want2bclean, I'm in so much pain, I'll deal with the consequences when the day comes!

I totally agree, people with chronic pain that can function ONLY on the meds, this is our life, we dont' choose it.... I would rather be physically dependent (which is different than being an "addict" looking for a buzz)... than go through the pain on a daily basis,, I wouldn't be able to get out of bed.. I"M sooo tired of all this whoopla of these abusers making it hard for the people that need these drugs to LIVE>.. no hard feelings intended, but not everybody becomes an addict and has their life spin out of control.. MY life spun out of control BEFORE the pain was managed,, now that I have relief,, no one can even tell i"m sick, and I take 10/325 as well, several a day.. and I too,, if so be it, will deal with it if that day comes, but I know it won't , because I just want to be normal.

If I didn't know bettter I'd swear I wrote that and not you! I have said those EXACT same things SO many times. I'm currently on triple what you're talking about and still miserable at times. I wouls have NO life without the pain meds. do I like taking them? NO. Do I get high? NO. But those of us that deal with this are the only ones that understand. Other people look at us like we are some sort of addict. Yes, we are dependent on our medications just as a diabetic is dependent on their insulin. We are dependent b/c we want some sort of "normal" life. If my pain level is less than a 5, I don't even think about my meds. On those days ( which unfortunatly are few) I have to remember to take my extended release that I take every 6 hrs. I have been dealing with this for 22 yrs. and I'd rather be phsically dependent also than in bed all the time.
