There is little evidence that FM is associated with blood sugar problems. Some physicians believe it is associated with low blood sugar but the few studies that have been done do not suggest that low blood sugar is a major problem in FM.
You on the other hand have high blood sugar and that definitely can be a side effect of cymbalta particularly if you're diabetic.

when I was taking Cymbalta for both the depression and the pain of FM, a fasting sugar indicated to my physician that I was either pre-diabetic or maybe early insulin resistance. I was changed to another antidepressant, one without the pain relief benefit of Cymbalta, and after a year, my fasting sugars were all WELL within the normal or acceptable range. Neither my doc nor I put 2 and 2 together until I saw your question. There may have very well been a direct correlation.
