Q: Nucynta any info on new med

been on chrronic pain meds for 10yrs. Most ever was Fentanyl patch and

up to 4 10/325 percocet. Over medicated and finally stopped patch after 1 yr. Also stepped down to 2 perc. I vol to switch to Norco about 8mos ago (same dose). Poor pain control immediately went back to perc but pain control unbareable at times. New Dr gave me trail of Nucynta (10) and actually after the initail 2days of extreme pain, this med seem to control better without feeling like narcotic. I go for another procedure with new dr on Thurs & would like to give this new med a chance.

Many of my most sensitive patients who have bad reactions to other medications find Nucynta to be tolerable and effective. Nucynta is one of those few medications that seems to be very useful for nerve pain, just like its cousin drug Tramadol.

Nucynta is not as heavy as some other opioids like oxycodone, but it does pack a punch against pain.

Well worth a good college try, if you can get your insurance to cover it.
