I have had emg's and no they are not that bad....  The only this I can tell you is, they will send very small shocks through your nerves to see if they are working correctly. They will also use tiny needles to probe these as well. If your in the amount of pain you are stating this will be a cake walk.... Good luck and I wish you the best. This sounds much worse than it is.

angel107~

I have found that a long acting pain med works well for me. One that stays in my system for 10-12 hours because it is slowly released over time in  the blood stream. With meds that need to be taken every four hours I found that by the time that four hour mark was coming up I was already in agony again. Then it required at least another 30-45 minutes to enter fully in my system and the whole cycle was to begin again in another 2-3 hours. I was never in any state of pain management.

Now thanks to a wonderful team of physicians and pharmacists I am able to manage my pain level and cope much better. I also had to come to an understanding that the pain would never be completely unable to be felt if I wanted to remain upright. alert, and active.

Hope I am helpful in sharing what works for me. I have been a chronic pain patient for over 25 years and come from the day when no doctor would even possibly consider treating chronic pain, they hardly dealt with acute pain.
