I have had this proceedure done several times. The block should only work for a limited amount of time. My Specialist did this twice to make sure that they had found the cause of the pain and then went forward with what they call a rhizotomy. This is when they actually burn the nerve to block the pain. That lasts me about 1 to 2 years until it grows back and the pain says hello again. With all that you have had done, I would be seeking second and third opnions from Specialists before proceeding any further with more operations or blocks if you're bot getting relief. Too many Doctors will throw the Fibromyalgia sticker on you if they cannot find the cause of your pain. In fact, there are specific tests that can be done to come up with an FMS diagnosis. Have you had the tender point tests done? If not, I would say the Dr may just not know what is causing the pain. Hope this helps a little coming from another paitient. Good luck.
