Here is a lowdown on all the problems Ive read so far because Ive had them all. Im a 37 year old female, relative good health..out of the blue one day..middle chest pain going down arm..panic attacks at same time. Rushed to ER..diagnosis was I was too stressed, gave me pills and sent me home. Two days later same thing, back to ER, blood tests, heart monitor, heart tests..all negative sent home with refereal to cardiologist. In meantime my own doctor started me on Tecta (proton pump inhibitor) with a suspicion that i had GERD (gastroentestinal reflux desease ). By this time i had dropped 35 pounds..no appetite and was in a depression kind of mood but i knew it wasnt. Stomach, lower stomach, ribs and back all felt really funny..doctor finaly said its Costocondrotis (inflammation of the rib cartilege) along with GERD. Did a upper GI tract test, confirmed the GERD and that made me feel 95% better...but the rib pain remained and still to this day when i have my periods, the pain / uncomfiness is still there over my right ribs. From other tests later on because of rib pain, had complete upper and lower stomach ultrasound done all was negative except and a mangioma detected on liver (benign they said) Best possible ideas I can give...  1 - get and upper GI test done to rule out reflux desease 2- get a refereal to a bone specialist / thoracic doctor for a Costocondritis diagnosis 3- if all these fail to turn up anything, go see a chiropractor, a rib displacement it seems is as common as a cold and will cause much problems when all else is negative. if you have any other question my email is juna3391 @yahoo.ca
