Side-effects to Lexapro

Topics:Chronic Pain

I take 20 mg Lexapro per day for depression.  I use to be on 150 mg. Effexor XR.  However, Effexor stopped working for me so my doctor switched me to Lexapro.  I don't think it's working as well for my depression and I believe I'm having severe night sweats from it.  I also have lots of limb pain that has worsens since being on Lexapro.  I can't seem to find a "straight" answer to if any of these side-effects are related to taking Lexapro.  I'd appreciate a response from someone who knows the answer to this question.

Thanks!

Laura

Laura,

It's your doctors JOB to answer these questions. If he can't or won't, it's time for a new doctor.

Here's some Lexapro info: http://www.healthcentral.com/anxiety/find-drug-1094-150.html

Best wishes,

HI -- I am in the same boat.  I think effexor is now working anymore at 150mg.  How did you switch from effexor to lexapro?  Did you take both at the same time while slowly increasing lexapro and decreasing effexor.  I would like to talk to my doc about doing the same thing.  Did  you have side effects when you got off the effexor.  Thank you so much -- any info you have would be great.
