chronic pain
i pulled a muscle in my back a couple of years ago. since then i have continued to have lower back pain. burning down my leg and hip and sometimes in my knee. i have had mri and emg studies and nothing shows up. also i have no reflex in my knee. i just wonder if this is permanent and how long will this continue.
You know..... Have you gone for a second opinion? You might want to do that. Before my first Lumbar surgery, my MRI was not definitive and then they did a Discogram, and BINGO! All of my issues were found.
I had a spinal fusion, but that is a whole other story..........
Try to get a second opinion. I would try a Neurosurgeon or an Orthopedic surgeon that specializes in spines only. Good luck to you.

I agree with Millie, get a second opinion. You might want to go to a Pain management clinic for help. These doctors are training in the treatment of chronic pain, which is different from acute pain. There are many things a PM can do for you. Have you tried PT, massage or a lumbar block? The burning pain sounds like nerve pain, which is difficult to treat and most family doctors don't treat it.
I have had lower back pain off and on for the last few years. I have had more success with PT than drugs. I have a set of exercises that work better and faster than any drug I have ever taken.
