Q: I have swollen carotid arteries. What could this be?

I have swollen carotid arteries and nothing seems to help. Now I have a swollen lymph node and I get migraines. I also deal with a heavy chest and sometimes I wheeze at night. What could be going on?

I wouldn't presume to know but these arteries, of course, lead to the brain and problems with them can cause serious consequences if they're not taken care of. Swollen arteries can be caused by something called fistula's which  cause the walls of weakened arteries to bulge out. If those weakened walls break they can cause a stroke. Blood clots in this area can cause severe problems as well. I'm certainly not saying that's what you have but this is a condition you should certainly see a doctor about. Good luck.
