Q: After 15 surgeries on right knee, I may need one more, I give up....

I have had 15 surgeries on my right knee since 2002, including tibial elevation, gastroc graph (because of a staph infection), numerous scopes, total knee replacement and last and MCL recontruction almost a year ago.  I think I would be better off with an above the knee amputation but doctor said we aren't to that point.  My point is they don't have to live with the pain, I can't exercise, I can't play with my kids, it hurts to walk down the hallway.  I don't know what else to do, I have constant knee and calf pain.....

I'm so sorry that you have gone thru so much. It is time for your ortho doctor to refer you to a pain mangement doctor so you can have some pain relief. I hope you don't have to keep having surgeries. I've had five lumbar surgeries and two leg surgeries and I'm very sick of it all. Thank God I have a good pain management doctor. Good luck. I hope you have a low pain day.  Scooter

Scooter,

Thank you for your response!  I also believe I should be referred to a pain management doc, but they have to fix what the other ortho doc did first.  The MCL recontruction last Oct did not take and I have no stability in the knee at all.  So maybe after they fix this issue I can get some relief but I am hoping they can do something other than surgery...
