I've had this pain twice, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I have a really bad earache that radiates down my neck to my collarbone. It causes discomfort in my jaw, but only on the left side. I also get a bad sinus infection on the same side, then it clears up and slowly goes away. I've had all kinds of tests to rule out TMJ, but with no answers. Should I see a chiropractor?
I wish I could provide more definitive help, but it sounds like your medical team is working with you to help find a solution. I'm sorry that what they've found so far isn't helpful, but it has the advantage of ruling things out, I suppose.
It is possible for a pinched nerve to cause head and neck pain, including pain that can radiate down one's arm, as well as cause ringing in the ears, so it's possible that you're onto something. Honestly, at this point I would recommend that you give a chiropractor a try, particularly since you've tried other methods to relieve the pain.
Here's a good article on how to know when it's time to see a chiropractor. Remember though that chiropractic care is meant to complement other forms of care, so if that doesn't help please keep trying to get to the root of the pain problem.
I suffer from a serious case of tmj and i think you ight be dealing with this condition. It makes you feel like you have an ear infection at times and your jaw might click or porp. I would see a good dentist that deals with tmj or also you might see a ear , nose , throat doc. Blessings, tim
YES INDEED SWEETIE, I HAVE A 'TRAINWRECK' FOR A SPINE & WHEN IT HITS IN MY UPPER BACK & NECK...I HAVE JAW PAIN, SINUS PAIN, HEADACHES, SKULLACHE, RINGING IN MY EARS & THE LIST GOES ON.
I EVEN FEEL LIKE I HAVE TEETH AGAIN WHEN THIS HAPPENS. (I HAVE FALSE TEETH)
FIND A GOOD CHIROPRACTOR & AFTER A FEW TREATMENTS OR MAYBE EVEN JUST ONE TREATMENT...YOU'LL FEEL LIKE A MILLION BUCKS.
GOOD LUCK & PRAYING FOR YOU SWEETIE.
PS...I ALSO HAVE BONE DISEASE & A FEW OTHER THINGS WRONG, SO TRUST ME...CHIROPRACTORS HELP THE 'BEST'.
BY THE WAY SWEETIE, MY NERVES IN THE NECK WHEN PINCHED CAUSES VISION PROBLEMS AS WELL.
Yes, I just had this happen again over a time of 10 years. I have used a heating pad or pain pactch on my neck to help with the pain.
after a few days it goes away. I have had a lot of sucess with all of my neck, shoulder and arm pain by going for acupuncture over the past 6 mos.
Look for a Worker Bee Community Acupuncurist in your area as the cost is very reasonable.
Hooe this helps.
