Our bodies tend to build up a tolerance to opioid medications, requiring higher doses to get the same pain relief.  It may be time to consider a different medication that you haven't built a tolerance to.  Tell your doctor you are no longer getting adequate pain relief, express your concern about needing higher doses of hydrocodone, and ask if together you can reevaluate your pain management plan.

I have been taking pain killers for about 3 yrs.  Hydrocodone doesn't even touch my pain.  Just go to your doctor and tell them exactly how much pain your still in after you take your pills.  If you have severe chronic pain like I do it won't be hard.  I exhibit chronic pain signs, deformation and popping everywhere allthe time
