Our bodies tend to build up a tolerance to opioid medications, requiring higher doses to get the same pain relief.  It may be time to consider a different medication that you haven't built a tolerance to.  Tell your doctor you are no longer getting adequate pain relief, express your concern about needing higher doses of hydrocodone, and ask if together you can reevaluate your pain management plan.
