Oxycodone is strong narcotic (opiate-type) pain reliever, similar to morphine, that's used to treat moderate to severe pain. Its not by any means a lightweight drug. It can result in addiction similar to that seen with morphine.
Its also known as oxycontin, percodan, percocet, tylox
Oxycodone abuse is a problem in the US. Oxycodone abuse often entails crushing the tablets and then sniffing them or dissolving them in water and injecting them.

Hopefully your boyfriend has a good reason for taking this drug (and a prescription!)
Good luck!
