Pain.com has a box that allows you to punch in your zip code and get a list of pain doctors in your area. Perhaps you can find someone closer. Good luck!
I live in Clermont florida and I drive to Tampa. It is so difficult to find an understanding Pain Doctor,..so I haven't looked to see if there are any good ones closer. My Doctor does everything by the book and will provide the medication needed for your condition..as long as you have all your medical records, etc. and he accepts you. I am in a great deal of pain from over 5 buldging discs and 3 pinched nerves. I receive Oxycodone and Methadone. I am a legit pain patient, and druggies won't fool him. I'm not sure if I can say the name of the Dr. here, but it is Dr. VanDecarr at Tampa Pain Clinic. If you can drive that far it is worth it.
He used to take insurance, but now he doesn't. They accept major credit cards, though. His initial visit may cost a the most, but the following visits are much less than $200 . This Doctor is not in it for any kind og greed. He was a Psychology Professor at USF and I took one of his classes in college. He became a Pain Specialist and a Dr. because his Daughter needed pain relief for legitimate pain, and could find none. Because of that experience, he became a Doctor! Go to Tampapainclinic.com and see his great website. You should give them a call and make an appt.

Than'ks. I'm legitimate with records but the usual Doctors, ie, Dr. Zhoe at the Comprehensive Pain Mgmt of Northern Florida gives me back injections but DOES'NT prescribe oral pain meds. so I had been going to Apopka Pain Center in Inverness which doe's. They also required an MRI but it is all about money with them ...200.00 a visit (doesn't accept insurance) and all he did was ask how ya doin and write you a script. That was working for me but like I said he's retiring and the office is closing.
