Q: TMJ issue causing inability to chew

I have had a popping and uneven jaw movement since I was a teen.  A boyfriend first noticed it when we were kissing...that my mouth would close crooked (I know I am blushing).  Anyway, 15 years later it was never that much of a problem as long as I didnt eat sandwichs with hard bread or apples or gum.  I occasioaly had flair up of pain because I grind my teet when I am stressed.  But this was easily solved with some advil and rest.  However, In June I stepped into a left hook of a fellow kick boxing student..direct to my jaw.   Since then, if I get stressed and grind my teeth i am unable to eat anything for a few days.  Then last week it started hurting constantly.  My jaw hurts so bad I can barely talk.  I have been on a liquid diet four three days.   Doctor gave me darvocet.  I took two last night with advil and still couldnt eat anything. i have appointment with dr friday but I cant wait that long.  I am so hungry, my face hurts so bad.  How can I get through the next week.  I work 10 hour days in high stress job, mother to three sons and allI want to do is cry cause it hurts so bad.
