Q: Can I Take Azithromycin With Tetracycline?

I've been taking Tetracycline for a couple of years now to treat acne. I was recently diagnosed with bronchitis and prescribed Azithromycin. Is it safe to keep taking the Tetracycline during the 5 days I'm on the Azithromycin?

The Drug Interaction Checker didn't show any potential interactions between these two medications.

I presume the doctor who prescribed the Azithromycin knew you were taking the tetracycline.  If not, you really should ask him this question to be sure.  There are factors to be considered in addition to possible interactions between these two medications -- any health issues/conditions you may have, and ALL other medications you are taking including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, dietary supplements, etc.
