please advise. two weeks ago i had knee replacement surgery (complete); i am experiencing some pain i have not had before; i have osteo arth and fibramy but this pain is different. it hurts worse than the knee surgery; the pain is around my left ankle bone and goes downward towards the bottom side of my foot. i have used some of my arthritic meds, etc., to no avail....can anyone suggest what i might do to relieve this until i get to the dr. to have it checked out. nights are horrible for not sleeping.. thanks....sunny.cali.girl@gmail.com

Sometimes knee replacement surgery can slightly damage a nerve. The nerve injuries are usually temporary. Those with diabetes, thyroid disease, and/or vitamin B deficiency are more likely to experience such a complication.
Many nerves pass through the knee area. So, depending on the location of your pain and/or presence of abnormal sensations like numbness, tingling, burning, and itching, a doctor can help you determine if this is the the problem.
Other possiblities exist such as foot or ankle injury from poor positioning during surgery. Again, a doctor will have to examine you to determine the reason for your foot pain.
