Q: Exalgo versus Ms Contin?

Hi everyone. I recently asked about OxyContin and then had a reaction to some of the fillers in the medication. I am wondering if anyone has had luck with Exalgo as the MS Contin just is NOT cutting the pain. My doctor told me 3 other meds to research and I'm kind of excited about the once a day dosing of the Exalgo. I know it is newer so there is not a lot of feedback.

Exalgo contains hydromorphone, a semi-synthetic drug derived from morphine, which is significantly stronger than morphine, has fewer side effects and less risk of dependence. Because it lacks some of the toxic metabolities of some other opioid drugs it has less risk of nausea. Its potency reflects its high solubility and ability to easily pass through the blood:brain barrier.

Hydromorphone is derived from a different alkaloid of the opium plant than oxycontin. Whichever drug you chose I wish you good luck!
