have had an issue with my neck throat area mainly below my Adam's apple, but also in the area surrounding it. The feeling is the classic "lump in throat" feeling. However, I have had a thyroid ultrasound with no concern from my ENT doctor. I have also had the camera thing where they place the wire in your nose and look down your throat. Everything was clear of infection, but the doctor did say that I had tissue on the bottom part of my throat that is normally caused by acid reflux, but it wasn't that bad.
I was put on lansoprazole and have been on that several weeks, but it hasn't changed anything so far. When I swallow it feels like I'm swallowing a ball of air. I have also been given muscle relaxers to test if the feeling is being caused by a muscle spasm in that area, but that's not working either. I also have swollen lymph nodes on the sides of my neck, but no doctor has suggested infection or lymphoma because they're not swollen that much. I do have a lot of post-nasal drip, but at times when I do not I still get this throat sensation. I had neck pain, but I had steroid injections which seemed to help that part. If anyone has any ideas on what this could be it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there, Adam -
I know this is a question from last year, but did you ever find out what was causing these unusual symptoms? I'm not a healthcare professional, but it does sound like something to do with reflux if all those other things have been ruled out. Perhaps you could come back and tell us how you've been faring since you posted this, if your doctors had found a reason for the issue and a treatment. It might be helpful to others who are experiencing the same symptoms.
