You don't say how long you've been taking the Percocet.  Everyone is different in how they respond to medications, but generally if you take any opioid (narcotic) medication regularly for a long period of time, your body will develop a physical dependence on it and it will be necessary to taper off the medication gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms.  I hope you get better very soon and are able to taper off with few problems.

Your doctor will have to wean you off of the Percocet. It's not one of the easiest to get off of. But, you will have to strict with yourself and have will power.
