connie: Are you sure the neuropathic pain isn't due to an incresing problem and not the pump..What did you get the pump put in for in the first place. The catheter, by know has lots of scar tissue around it and would probably cause more problems by removing it and disturbing the scar tissues and what they are attached to. You really need to study a couple of things. 1. why did you get the pump, and has it helped the original pain. 2. are the new symptoms (neuropathic) related to the original condition, or an exaserbation of that original condition. REALLY STUDY WHAT HAS CHANGED AND WHY because removing the pump will elimenate the relief you received from pump and and current relief the pump is giving to the progression of your problem(whether we like to admit it or not, all of our problems progress further into a deeper hole. Check with all of your docs, don't make this decission quickly. Remember the less pain we have the more funtional we are. Don't under any circumstances remove any of your functional abilities. the oringal pain went for was Anklosing spondylitis, neuropathy, Fibromyalgia, and contractures of the thigh and hip these have turned to bone. All these things took back burner to the Neuropathic pain, for 6 months I screamed my head off, being up for 3-4 days at a time then a fatigue syndrome happend to me. pain doc said oh no this is the morhine clonadine and baclafen in the pump. My husband said no you understand I know my wife of 31 years this is not what you say. Still they disagreed. Morons.  After all this done ,my sisiter told to look up Medical boards to see if this doc had issues. He had 4 stipulated orders and could'nt leave the state he practicted in for 1 year. On implantation  of my pump just 8 days later I was in surgery. DO NO HARM>!!!!  thnakyou for your advice and wisdom, Connie
