I have looked around the web and just haven't been able to find any reference to eating interrupting pain drug efficacy. There is an article on Health Central by Dr. Lasich on how certain types of food may increase pain sensitivity in some people, however. You can find that here. Good luck on your search.

I don't have this problem.  I do know I have to take compazine with my pain medication because I also have type 1 diabetes and whenever I take my pain medication I cannot eat or drink anything with any sugar in it because it makes me get sick and if I have an insulin reaction (low blood sugar) I need the sugar.  I would guess it could be possible.  I know when blood sugar is running high - which for me is anything over 145 - my pain increases so you may want to check and make sure you blood sugar isn't a problem.
