Although there are no medications specifically approved for TMJ, there are a variety of different medications often used in its treatment. See "Medications Used to Treat TMJ Disorder" for a list. Just as with TMJ, there are no medications approved specifically for trigeminal neuralgia. Medications used off-label to treat TN are anticonvulsants and muscle relaxers. Hope this was helpful.
