Q: Does Keppra affect your ability to taste and make you very thirsty?

I have not been able to taste anything and I am extremely thirsty since I started taking Keppra. Also my urine creatinine and specific gravity is very low. Is there any information on this?

According to the Keppra packaging information, there can be urine abnormalities when taking Keppra.    There was nothing about thirst and taste mentioned, but I found a lot of other patients taking Keppra who have had similar symptoms.  And since low urine specific gravity can be caused by excessive fluid intake, the thirst problem could certainly be related to it.

You should definitely talk with your doctor about these side effects to determine whether or not Keppra is the best medication for you.
