    Burning pain in toes?

    I had knee surgery on June 8 and my toes are numb and burning! What is this from and what can I do about it?

    I checked around the web for side effects from knee surgery and numbness and burning in the toes  does not appear to be a common side effect. Numbness and burning sensations typically suggest some problems with the nerves. 

    If it's not a complication from your knee surgery  - as one would suspect - you should be aware that nervous system problems in the feet are sometimes a sign of diabetes. Either way you should definitely get this checked out. Good luck!
