Why is my forearm swelling?

I am a 24 year old waitress, and have been working strenously for 2 years as a server, recenlty my arm that I happen to carry trays with has become visibly swollen, in some areas of my forearm accompanied with pain ranging from my shoulder, to the elbow, to the swollen areas of my forearm.
